👋 Have you considered to support async? modern app take benefit of it and in order use this lib in async context, calls have to be wrapped into thread to not block the loop. So seeking perf with c binding to end with thread op - the out of the box python async socket is more performant than this to perform ilp in async context/app

Hi @Johann Saunier, We’re currently not intending to move away from the bindings based implementation. This is also so I can maintain a single implementation for multiple languages including authentication and encryption. That said, feel free to write up an issue with your request. I’d also like to know what your intended use case would be for an
async
library.

For what it’s worth, the next feature in the works for the Python client is Pandas integration.
